Bioidentical Hormone Optimization · Tuscaloosa & Northport
If your labs came back "normal" but you still don't feel like yourself, you're not imagining it. And you're not the first person to sit in that chair.
Your first visit with Dr. Knight is $27. An in depth conversation about how you feel, with someone who understands.
Sound familiar?
Not to a doctor. To your husband, or your sister, or to nobody in particular at six in the morning.
Those aren't complaints. They're symptoms, and symptoms usually have a cause.
The part nobody explained
Because "normal" is a very wide range. It was built to catch disease, not to describe a woman who feels like herself.
A standard lab range is essentially an average of everyone who came through the lab that year. Some of those people felt great. A lot of them did not. You can land squarely inside that range and still be sitting near the bottom of your own healthy window, and your body will tell you that long before a routine panel does.
The standard lab range
Told you are fine. Still feel awful.
Where most people feel like themselves again.
Simplified for illustration. Optimal ranges vary by marker and by person.
We don't ask "is she sick?" We ask "is she thriving?"
Those are two different questions and they produce two different answers. That is the entire reason you can be told you're fine and know, in your bones, that you're not.
Let's rule some things out
Hormone shifts are quiet. They pull away your energy, your mood, your focus and your patience slowly enough that you explain each one away as it happens. A hard season. A bad stretch of sleep. Work. The kids. Just getting older.
By the time you finally say it out loud, you have usually been adjusting around it for a year or two. That is not weakness, and it is not in your head. That is what a slow change feels like from the inside.
You're not losing yourself. Your hormones may simply be out of balance.
Who this is for
You exercise. You eat well. You take the supplements. You go to bed at a reasonable hour and you have read more health articles than you would like to admit.
And you still feel like you are running at sixty percent.
Nobody needs to tell you to try harder. You have already tried harder. What you need is someone to look underneath all that effort and tell you what is actually going on. That is the whole visit.
Fair warning, this is not a quick fix. It takes real lab work, a real plan, and some patience. What it is not is a mystery.
What changes
None of that is dramatic. It is just your life, running the way it used to.
Start Feeling Like Myself AgainAn in depth 30 minutes with Dr. Knight. No obligation, and nothing to decide that day.
Meet your provider
Not a questionnaire, not a five minute handoff, and not somebody different from the person on this page. Your first visit is a real conversation with him.
"I knew something was wrong and I could not get anyone to tell me what it was. I was told I was too young for it to be what it turned out to be. That is why I take the time I take. Nobody should have to go find that answer on their own."

They even have bio natural hormone replacement therapy related to menopause or just low energy levels. I tried the treatments and the therapy completely wiped out my hot flashes!

What actually happens
Fill out three quick questions and pick your own appointment time right there. No waiting on a call back, no phone tag.
Thirty minutes on your health story and your symptoms. Not a form, not a rushed handoff, not somebody reading a screen.
He will tell you which markers actually matter for what you are describing, and why a routine panel may not have caught them.
You come back and he walks you through exactly what your labs show and what he recommends, in plain language. Then you decide, on your own timeline.
That is the whole process. Nothing in it happens without you knowing it is coming.
Before you book
That depends on you, which is exactly why the first visit is a conversation and not a prescription. Hormone therapy is not right for everyone, and part of what Dr. Knight is doing in your visit and your labs is working out whether you are a good candidate.
If you are not, he will tell you. If you are, he will walk you through what the therapy involves, how you will be monitored, and what to watch for. Anyone who tells you it is completely risk free for everybody is not being straight with you.
Pellet therapy is the only form of hormone therapy we offer. The pellets are roughly the size of a grain of rice and are placed just under the skin during a quick in office procedure.
From there they release steadily on their own, so there is no daily cream to remember and no weekly injection to schedule.
Most people notice a difference a couple of weeks after their first insertion.
That said, this is not an overnight fix and it was never meant to be. It is a program, because getting your levels right and then keeping them there takes more than one appointment.
Almost certainly not, and we would rather tell you now than at the front desk.
Insurance is built to manage disease. It was never built to help you optimize or thrive. That is not a knock on your doctor or your plan, it is simply what the system was designed to do, and it is why this kind of care sits outside of it.
We do have financing options available, and our team will walk you through them. You will get exact costs at your report of findings, in writing, with nothing to decide on the spot.
No. You leave with what we found and what we would recommend, and you decide on your own timeline. If it is not the right season for you, we would rather you say so than sign up for something you are unsure about.
Usually yes, because guessing is not a plan. Lab work is separate from your first visit, and Dr. Knight will tell you exactly which markers he wants to see and what they cost before anything gets ordered.
No. We see people of all ages. Hormones shift for plenty of reasons and plenty of years before menopause is on the table, and a lot of the people who walk in here are nowhere near it.
What matters is what your symptoms and your labs actually show, not what decade you happen to be in.
Bring the list. Dr. Knight needs to know what you are already taking, because it matters and it changes what he recommends. We are not asking you to stop anything before you come in.
Yes, and quite a few of the men we see got here because their wife came in first and recognized the same pattern at home. If you both want to come in, tell our front desk and we will schedule you back to back.
Availability
Every person who books a first visit is not one appointment. It is a consultation, then lab work, then a report of findings where Dr. Knight sits down and walks through the whole thing with you.
He is not willing to rush any of those, and he is not willing to shortchange the patients already in his care to make room for more. So the number of new hormone patients we can take in a week is capped by how many of those conversations he can do properly.
When this week is full, the next opening is the following week. That is the entire reason.
One more thing
A lot of the women who come in end up saying the same thing on their way out. I think my husband needs this too.
They are usually right. In men it looks a little different. The workouts stop producing. The motivation flattens out. The fuse gets shorter. The drive quietly disappears. He will probably tell you he is just tired.
You can both come in, and we will schedule you back to back. There is a question on the form below for exactly this. Just tell us it is for the two of you.
